Santander Bank is committed to continuous learning. Each year they offer more than 400 Santander Scholarship programmes carefully designed to foster growth in areas as technology, languages, soft skills and research. An example of this commitment is their Language Scholarship programme in partnership with the British Council.

Santander Poland one of the largest, fastest growing financial institutions started offering 500 free British Council English online courses on their Language Scholarship in 2021. 

Today thanks to the success of this programme they have increased the number of places to 10,000 people living in Poland. This makes it one of Santander’s biggest corporate social responsibility projects in Poland.
 
The programme welcomes participants over the age of 18 and of any language ability. Its primary objective is to strengthen people’s current language skills, improve employability and boost career prospects in an increasingly international and digitalised world.

The Challenge

Santander’s ambition to upskill at scale meant they needed a large-scale solution. One that would effectively engage, motivate, and meet the diverse needs of learners with varying levels of proficiency, learning styles, locations and schedules.

Implementation would require robust systems, quality control and effective logistics with meticulous planning to manage enrollment, scheduling, and track attendance. Clear communication would be vital to engage participants and provide updates and reports to Santander.
